Visualizing using Tableau

This data is a subset of the World Bank Indicators of several countries from 2000 to 2010, having a number of attributes like Business, Health, Finance and other demographics. Out of those, we choose Health Mortality (under 5 years per 1000 live births) and Health expenditure per capita(in terms of US$) of India, yearly from 2000 through 2010.

There has been a rising trend in the healthcare expenditure of the country. Infrastructure in healthcare has improved and with technological progress and awareness, the health mortality has come down over the years. This has been depicted using a visualization software called Tableau, which is simple to use and user-friendly. There is a wide variety of visualizations to choose from, depending on the data of course. Later we show another visualization example.

Visualizing the data for all Olympic medals and athletes since the 2000 Games in Sydney, Australia, we arrive at a very interesting picture. Firstly, we notice that the colors red and orange are not so frequent in occurrence, compared to the other colors. This leads us to believe that the number of medals in 2002(orange) and 2006(red) were less which means that the number of sports included were less or number of divisions per sport may have been lower as well. We also find that United States, Russia, China and Spain feature mostly in all colors having bigger shapes as well, which implies their dominance in the Games compared to the other countries.
